Eucalyptus Oil is a traditional Aboriginal remedy used primarily as an antiseptic to relieve coughs, colds ,sore throats and other upper respiratory symptoms. There are many uses attributed to this essential aromatic oil. Below is a list of some of them. None of these is to be considered as a substitute for the advise of a qualified, competent physician: HEAD COLD, CONGESTION, STUFFY NOSE: Put 15-20 drops of Eucalyptus Oil in a bowl of steaming water or vaporizer and inhale the vapors. Also place a few drops of the oil on a handkerchief and breath through it occasionally to relieve symptoms during the day. May be mixed with equal amount of Peppermint. CHILDREN’S COLDS: gently massage the chest and back with a few drops of the pure oil. For very young infants dilute the oil with equal parts Baby Oil. SORE THROAT: Add 1-3 drops to 1/2 cup of warm water and use as a mouth gargle. Do not swallow MUSCLE ACHE, JOINT STIFFNESS: Use the pure oil as a liniment and lubricant. Wash the area with warm water first, then massage in the Eucalyptus oil for at least one minute. A warm compress with a few drops of the oil can also be applied. SORES, CUTS, SCRAPES: Dilute the oil in water to clean wounds. A few drops on a band-aid can be used as an antiseptic. MINOR BURNS, SUNBURN: Immediately apply Eucalyptus Oil to the burn area and let dry. Apply again as necessary. The oil can help stop blistering. INSECT BITES: For Insect Bites rub a few drops of the oil into the itchy and inflamed area for quick relief. Repeat as required. INSECT REPELLANT: As an insect repellent mix equal parts with baby oil or suntan oil and rub over exposed skin, for better results combine with a few drops Pure Neekoo Tea Tree Oil. FOOT BATH: Add one capful (4ml) of Eucalyptus Oil to a foot bath and soak the feet for soothing relief. SCALP MASSAGE, HAIR GROWTH: Rub a few drops of oil into the scalp or add to your shampoo to stimulate blood flow to the hair roots. SPORTS RUB: Gets muscles loosened up prior to exercise. Mix equal parts Eucalyptus Oil with Baby Oil and use as a liniment to massage into muscles prior to exercise. |
